The term “index node” or “inode,” refers to a data structure that houses the majority of a file or directory’s critical information. The file’s name and contents are not included in the inode.

In a Unix-style file system, an inode is a data structure that describes a file or directory, among other file-system objects. The properties and disk block locations of the object’s data are stored in each inode. If you run out of inodes and disk space, you might see various errors. It may be difficult to send or receive emails, upload images, update blog posts, or issue new SSL certificates, for instance. Your website may also be difficult for users to access.

How to Remove Inodes and Clear Cache

If you see that the Inodes section is full when you enter the cPanel page of your WordPress site and you are experiencing problems due to this, there are some folders and files in these folders that you can clean.

You may receive an error due to the inodes limit being reached. Inodes indicates the maximum number of files and folders you can store on your server. Linux-based shared hosting services have an inode file limit (for example 250,000). You can make space for yourself by deleting unnecessary files, themes and emails.

You can clear the data in the cache folder by logging into your cPanel management panel of your hosting package and finding it in File Manager> public_html>wp-content>.

Other folders whose contents can be cleaned are; .well-known, wp-admin, wp-includes

1- Enter to cPanel
Enter web site's cPanel and check for Inodes section
Enter web site’s cPanel and check for Inodes section
2 – Find the Folder : public_html > wp_content > cache
Click to File Manager in cPanel and find public_html folder
Click to File Manager in cPanel and find public_html folder
3 – Delete Folders inside the Cache Folder
Delete the similar folders as shown in red box
4 – Check the cPanel Home Page Again to See if the Number of Inodes Has Decreased
